We decided to take Thursday and Friday off for Bryon’s birthday and do something fun (but close to home) with the Birdie. We decided to go to Kalahari. I was somewhat unsure about choosing this, but I’m glad we stuck with it.
We left Thursday morning and arrived there around noon. Our room was ready so we changed into our swimsuits and headed to the indoor waterpark.
Bird had a blast in the little kid slide area, then we went in the lazy river and wave pool. And although we probably wouldn’t have won any parenting awards with this one, we took her on the big tube slide. Hey she’s 42″ she meets the requirements. So after we climbed, oh I don’t know, 100 stairs we hopped in the big four person cloverleaf tube and hung on to Birdie’s hands for dear life. Seriously what was I thinking, it was an enclosed tube slide, did I think it would be lit up? We were in darkness for what felt like 20 minutes. We exited and I immediately sat down on a beach chair. My legs were jelly. I’m not one to get freaked from things like this, I do like the thrill, but I thought the Bird would be very upset. She looked at me and said ‘one more time?’ Nope sorry kiddo! I have a feeling my jelly legs wouldn’t make it up ten of those stairs!
After we swam the afternoon away, we got cleaned up and headed to dinner at the resort. I was impressed with my meal. Chicken stir fry. We received two ten dollar arcade gift cards with our meal which was a nice added bonus.
The next morning after breakfast we went into the indoor kids’ play area and then headed outside before leaving.
